My name is Evi Fokas and I am a photographer and videographer from Oklahoma City, currently residing in New York City. I graduated in December 2022, from the University of Oklahoma with a BFA in photography and videography.
My passion for film photography began during high school in the dark room, I focused mainly on landscapes. In that timeframe, I started working with drone photography and videography. I videoed races of my rowing teammates that were used for recruitment. While in college, I worked on various short film projects, such as The BFA’s, a web series, and began my journey to shooting live shows, such as Norman Music Festival. I was also a Production Assistant for the exhibit “Resistance, Memory, and Play” by Joseph DeLappe, which was shown in the Fred Jones Jr Museum. Regarding my live show photography, I have so much fun traveling to different venues to shoot for bands I enjoy and bands that reach out to me that I did not know before. Since moving to New York, I have shot many live concerts, such as Water From Your Eyes at SummerStage and Automatic at Music Hall of Williamsburg.
Back in Oklahoma, I enjoy rock climbing with my friends and taking my film camera or drone with me to our outdoor adventures. My most recent trip was in April to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, in Arkansas. That trip will always be one of my favorite adventures.
Outside of photography and videography, I have a love for ceramics. Since I was 5, I really enjoyed creating little figures out of air dry clay. I stopped working with clay until college, where I found my passion again. I started with making cups and vases, which slowly turned into tiny rock climbing figures, which finally turned into rock climbing figure mugs.
